vRealize Code Stream

vRealize™ Code Stream™ is a release automation solution that allows developers and operations teams to release software more frequently and efficiently, all the while leveraging their investments in existing build, test, provisioning, deployment and monitoring tools. vRealize Code Stream is a stand-alone product, but it also offers close integration with vRealize Automation™ to satistfy two primary use cases:

• Automatically provisioning new infrastructure as part of an application release process, to help with DevOps or Continous Delivery initiatives
• Automating the lifecycle of vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator and vSphere objects such as blueprints, workflows and templates, to enable Infrastructure as Code

The vRealize Code Stream APIs provides RESTful interface that can be triggered through external systems to:

• Import/Export pipeline templates
• Trigger pipeline executions
• Fetch pipeline templates
• Fetch detailed pipeline execution status
• And more

While vRealize Code Stream includes a number of pre-built integrations (e.g. vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, Jenkins, Atlassian JIRA, JFrog Artifactory, BASH, PowerShell, etc.), the new vRealize Code Stream Plug-in SDK allows developers to create their own integrations to 3rd party systems. The actions created in plug-ins can then augment the re-usable tasks that Release Managers can use to model their pipeline templates.
